Founded in 2014, Coinhouse is one of the earliest crypto platforms in France, offering buying, selling, and secure storage services. It combines online services with a physical presence in Paris.
Founding & Legacy
Coinhouse began in 2014 as La Maison du Bitcoin, a physical hub in Paris for blockchain enthusiasts. In 2018, it rebranded as Coinhouse, becoming one of France’s first regulated digital asset platforms.
Regulated & Trusted
Coinhouse holds the status of PSAN (Digital Asset Service Provider), being the first to register with the AMF (Financial Markets Authority) in March 2020 under registration number E2020-001. It also gained VASP recognition from Luxembourg’s CSSF in December 2021.
The platform implements strong AML/KYC procedures, cold storage with Ledger multi-signature, insurance against operational risks, and auditing by ANSSI-certified ISSAP.
Coinhouse contributed to France’s PACTE law (2019) and co-founded ADAN to support crypto-user protection and policy evolution.
Product Evolution
Initially offered Bitcoin and Ethereum trades, evolved into hosting 50+ cryptos, staking, savings plans, NFT investing, and an in-house Euro Account.
In 2021–2023, Coinhouse expanded with Asset Management, Staking, Euro Accounts, and tiered Premium Support Plans including fee discounts and advisory services.
The platform also introduced simplified DCA (Dollar-Cost Averaging) buying tools and staking rewards.
Corporate & Legal Structure
Coinhouse SAS (RCS Paris 815 254 545) operates under the oversight of AMF and ACPR, with a capital of €210,000. Registered as a payment agent via Treezor, it enables fiat-on/off-ramp services.
